I was born and raised in Chongqing. Chongqingese has been very proud of two local brands. One is Tianfu Coke 天府可乐 and the other is Chongqing Beer 重庆啤酒. 🍺 The latter is a must when Chonqingnese eat hot pot or enjoy barbecue together. 🍻 I have been very familiar with the local beer culture since my sister worked for Chongqing Beer 🍻 . The slogan "Chonqing Beer, your bona fide friend. 重庆啤酒,知心朋友" is still ringing in my head when I spot a bottle of beer now. 🍺

🍺 Under such situations, premiumisation seems a sure way out. But beer brands are taking it to the next level, prioritising “value, experience, and personalisation” for growth. Taking inspiration from Chinese culture and favours which is brimmed with the tea industry is a new spot for further growth.
🍺 Last, China’s beer industry is turning to e-commerce and social platforms to lure price-conscious drinkers, thanks to convenience, expansion of digital payment, and broadening of virtual distribution channels.
